Beginners Sewing Machine Class - Sacha Boxall

Whether you have never used a sewing machine before or are returning to sewing and want to refresh your machine skills, this easygoing one-day course is for you.

During the day I will guide you through making a simple envelope cushion. All equipment such as sewing machines, scissors, patterns and materials are provided as well as expert guidance and inspiration as you work on your creation. The day will be very flexible to allow everyone to work at their own pace. During the morning we will cover the basics of machine set up and sewing, a range of stitches, straight seams and turning corners, moving on to marking, pinning and cutting a pattern. In the afternoon we will cover, joining pieces of fabric together and finishing touches including finishing and securing raw seams.

All materials, equipment, tuition and takeaway worksheet will be provided. If you have any pieces of fabric or trim you especially wish to use, then feel free to bring them along and I will happily help you to include these.

Course cost is £150.00, a selection of refreshments, light lunch and a slice of gorgeous homemade cake is included, please feel free to bring your own lunch.
