Sandhurst Mayor's Charity Community Race Day – The Wonky Derby.

On Sunday 23 August 2026, this fun-filled community event at Sandhurst Recreation Ground, raising money for Walk Once More and Thames Hospice.

The event is completely FREE to attend, and all races are FREE to enter. It starts at 2:00pm and promises an afternoon full of fun, laughter and friendly competition for all ages. Whether people want to race, cheer on family and friends, enjoy a picnic or simply soak up the atmosphere, everyone is welcome.

There are races for children and adults, including:
🏃 Fastest Man and Fastest Woman in Sandhurst
👦 Under 18 and Under 10 sprint races
🎩 Fancy Dress Race
🐴 Hobby Horse Derby
🐇 Space Hopper Race
👨‍👩‍👧 Parent & Child Race
💪 Carry Your Partner Race
🚲 Children's Tricycle Race

Alongside the racing there will also be:
🎟️ A Charity Tote on every race (£1 per ticket, with half the proceeds going to the Mayor's charities and half paid out to the winning ticket holders.)
🎁 Raffle
🎉 Family entertainment
🧺 Bring your own picnic, food, drinks, blankets and chairs.

The only charges on the day are the optional Charity Tote (£1 per ticket), raffle tickets and any donations, with all proceeds supporting the Mayor's chosen charities.

Participants can enter as many races as they like, and we'd encourage everyone to register in advance to guarantee their place.
